San Cristobal Island Interpretation Center

The guide and crew are waiting for you at the airport if arriving from Quito. Pay $100 per person. Entrance to National Park. After that, you'll be transferred to Seaman Journey to check in and then to your cabin. Lunch onboard before the afternoon visit.

PM: Interpretation Center

The Charles Darwin Center has 1960s-era buildings, but this interpretation center is a lush garden with stunning views of the ocean. The interpretation center is a great place to learn about geological history, human history and conservation. The oldest Natural History Museum in the Galapagos Islands, this museum tries to protect the natural beauty of the island.

AM: Galapaguera

The Galapaguera is an ideal place for observing Galapagos Tortoises. San Cristobal Island has endemic species like the Mockingbird Nesomimus melanotis (Microlophus Bivittatus), Chatham Leaf Toed Geckos (Phyllodactylus Leei), and tortoises. The beach, which is very large and serves as a breeding zone for the marine tortoises, allows you to see all of these species. It is not uncommon to see the tracks of female tortoises who have scaled the dunes in order to lay their eggs between January and May.

PM: Cerro Brujo

Cerro Brujo has a white, coral-like beach. You can watch sea lions and birds while swimming. Charles Darwin walked the first time on this coast in 1835. You can find seabirds such as blue-footed and Nazca boobies, herons frigate birds, shore birds, etc. in this lava landscape. It is popular for swimming and observing young tortoises in the protected bay.

Fishermen used the pools of salty water that were hidden behind the dunes to store food and preserve it for locals. You can see the Chatham Mockingbird, and San Cristobal Lava Lizard. Both species are endemic and only found on the island.

You can also find an endemic species of bird called the Pajaro Brujo, which is a small, solitary bird that lives on San Cristobal Island. You can see species such as the carob tree and candelabrum trees. Cerro Brujo is located on the northern coast of Isla San Cristobal. It's a beautiful and relaxing place.
